Union Island dining make people remember this
A priority for your dream vacation in Union Island is our superior quality restaurants, with a tasteful variety on the menus. Your choices will range from formal plantation house dining and relaxing city restaurants, to casual beach hideouts and roadside barbeques. However you like it - fresh, broiled, fried, sautéed, stewed, well done, rare - we serve it. Union Island has a delightful combination of local tropical flavours and a wide range of beverages to satisfy any palate. In addition, however, we offer sensational cuisines from other Caribbean Territories, Latin America, North America, Africa, Europe and Asia. Lambi means conch in Creole patois, and if you've never tried this shellfish before, Lambi's Guest House & Restaurant is a good place to do so. Built partially on stilts on the waterfront in Clifton, this is also the best place to sample the local cuisine. You can order various fresh fish platters depending on the catch of the day, and lobster is frequently available. You can also order chicken, steak, lamb, or pork chops, but all this is shipped in frozen. Fresh vegetables are used whenever possible. In winter a steel band entertains nightly in the bar. Other entertainment includes limbo dancers or fire dancing. Upstairs are 41 dormitory-style rooms for rent, each with two double beds, ceiling fans, and a tiny, tiny bathroom. Year-round, they go for EC$62 (US$23) single, EC$81 (US$30) double, and EC$100 (US$37) triple. At night, several restaurants offer everything from light snacks to full dinners. Union Island is famous for its lobster and conch. Both local cuisine and international fare are available on Union Island. The West Indies Restaurant situated in the village of Clifton, adjacent to Grenadines Dive, is open Monday through Saturday for lunch and dinner. It serves Creole, French and local cuisine. The dishes here are the joining of Caribbean and traditional French cooking. Continental or cooked breakfast starts the day; lunch is a light affair of salads, omelet, sandwiches or burgers. Dinner is more elaborate, with the emphasis on seafood. The red snapper is delicious, as well as chicken in coconut milk sauce. The restaurant is run by a French couple and have trained and attentive staff.
