You can find accommodations to suit your style and budget. This unspoiled island is far from chain hotels. Instead you can choose among a refreshingly wide variety of charming and distinctive establishments to suit all tastes. These are dotted around the island. You can choose among the excellent hotels and guest houses on Union Island. Although at least two other hotels are nearby, Anchorage Yacht Club is among the best. It has a threefold function as a hotel, a restaurant, and a bar, with a busy marine-service facility in the same compound under different management. It occupies a prominent position a few steps from the bumpy landing strip that services at least two nearby resorts (Petit St. Vincent and Palm Island) and about a half-dozen small islands nearby. Something of an airline-hub aura permeates the place, as passengers shuttle between their planes, boats, and the yacht club's bar and restaurant. Each of the small guest rooms, set between a pair of airy verandas, has white-tile floors and simple, somewhat sun-bleached modern furniture. Shower-only bathrooms are very small and the towels a bit thin, but in this remote part of the world, you're grateful for hot water. The better units are the bungalows and cabanas beside the beach. The yachting set meets in the wood-and-stone bar, which serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner daily. Facilities include restaurant; bar; marina; snorkeling; babysitting; laundry service.
